Management Development
Our goal is to help people work to the best of their ability - improving the performance of businesses throughout the UK.
We never assume we understand what teams are facing. Instead, we want to learn what your team do by watching them at work or even spending time doing the job ourselves. We look at the audience, culture and individual business challenges you face.
Our management development programmes include topics such as situational leadership, entrepreneurial thinking and leading people through change. Our coaches have delivered senior leadership coaching for private companies such as Taylor Wimpey, Virgin Management, Ralph Lauren as well as public sector bodies, like the NHS.
During 2020-2021, we delivered approximately 600 hours of executive coaching to help support leaders in challenging climates due to Covid-19.

Behavioural Assessments
Understanding people helps us know how your goals can be achieved.
We use psychometric tests to fully understand the human behaviours of a team - designing training that helps challenge particular mindsets and conduct. Our assessments look at behaviours, motivators, judgements and emotional intelligence. They can also be used as a blueprint for recruitment purposes to employ like-minded, high-performing individuals.
We use these assessments to help bring order to dysfunctional teams by pinpointing behavioural styles and better communication methods. We deliver 1-2-1 coaching with Directors and Senior Leaders to improve leadership skills. We identify development areas for teams in customer-facing roles and deliver programmes that improve sales figures and customer experience.
Penguin Learning is one of a select number of training partners in the UK who have access to TTI Success Insights - a global provider of behavioural assessment tools - with clients including VW Group, Mercedes and Coca-Cola.
Consultancy Projects
Our approach is always to design a custom programme for each partner, ensuring it works for their specific context.
Our experience of working with a broad range of businesses means we can see change management from many different perspectives. This allows us to help people adapt to new roles and responsibilities within a business.
We offer project support, talent and team development, sales and service transformation, performance predictability, behavioural change and business partnering.
Our team have managed and delivered global change programmes. They're experts in people development, Executive Committee (ExCo) engagement and stakeholder management. Their experience as Retail Directors, Global Project Managers, Head Of Department (HOD) roles and frontline customer-facing roles gives them the understanding to build and develop unique solutions for each business context.

Automotive
VW Group - Sales and Service Competency Assessments
Working in partnership with ABG Group UK we assisted a 4-month assessment of Sales and Service Colleagues against a behavioural framework provided by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI). We assessed over 400 colleagues against the IMI frameworks (in Audi, VW, Skoda and Seat) with an 89% pass rate across sales and service.

Utilities
E.On, United Utilities - Domestic Data Share Implementation with Equifax
Working as a learning and development (L&D) partner in a joint venture programme designing and developing training solutions for a utility company to support a project where payment data is shared between the company and credit reference agencies. This project required customer service agents to be able to answer questions where payment information could affect the credit rating of individuals.

Co-op Funeralcare - Service Vs Care Transformational Programme
As part of a larger proposition rollout, we supported 3000 funeral care team members with the skills and techniques to support a new proposition launch designed to challenge funeral poverty and allow full customisation of funerals to allow a personal goodbye to families’ loved ones.

Pharmaceutical
Immucor - Account Manager Development Programme using DISC
We delivered a 3-month behavioural development programme involving 1-2-1 sessions with our experienced coaches and Immucor's Account Management team. The main focus of this programme was for learners to be able to identify behaviours and adapt their communication to different buyer types and customer personas for better, more productive conversations leading to increase in conversions.

Ralph Lauren - European Retail Management
Working in partnership with Ralph Lauren's existing L&D department, we designed and delivered a performance management programme that was attended by Ralph Lauren managers across Europe. The desired output of the programme was for managers to be able to drive performance through their sales teams to achieve key performance indicators across multiple European stores.

Taylor Wimpey - Senior Leadership Development programme
A 9-month development programme designed for both face-to-face and remote delivery with new directors and identified talent. This programme covers a variety of topics such as differentiating between managing and leading, leading through change, presentation skills and entrepreneurial thinking to upskill managers moving into new leadership positions.

Finance
Hoist Finance - Performance Management Programme
Working in partnership with Hoist Finance’s existing L&D department, we completed a learning needs analysis to identify best practice from their high-performing agents across their U.K sites.
We then designed two programmes (one for agents, one for managers) to drive the performance of their agents to achieve key performance indicators
The success of this programme resulted in the programmes being delivered across their European sites in France, Spain, Poland, Germany and Italy.

It's key that we understand things from your perspective.
We make our sessions collaborative and engaging, allowing participants to explore how they can overcome challenges in real working life. Before training, we give learners tools to help them begin engaging with the process. After the training, we also use tools that support them to embed the content and continue their learning.
